BUS (Data Processing)
The bus is a term frequently used in the field of data processing for a wiring system to exchange data between potentially more than two participants.
Baud
(after Jean-Maurice-Émile Baudot), abbreviated Bd, is the unit for the step rate or symbol rate in telecommunications and telecommunication engineering. One baud corresponds to one clock step per second if exactly one symbol is sent per second.
DIP Switch
Also called "keyboard switch"; abbreviation for Dual Inline Package, literally a housing with 2 parallel rows of contact pins.
Decentralized Peripherals
Input and/or output modules that can be used in a decentralized manner by a CPU.
RS485 Interface
The EIA-485 interface (formerly RS-485) operates with +5 V (High) and 0 V (Low) as a so-called differential voltage interface, where the true signal is transmitted on one wire and the inverted (or negative) signal on the other wire. Since interference affects both signals equally, the difference between the two signals remains (almost) the same and can be used for evaluation.
