4.8 Web Presence Setup
A public web presence provides browser-based clients and dashboards, allowing users to navigate, log directly into the IRC network, see who is online, and visit a forum. There are no geographic restrictions. There are many ways to use IRC clients effectively, especially cloud-based clients. Clients can also be embedded using widgets, Java, PHP, Flash, etc. A MySQL relational database is required, as well as an Apache HTTP web server and the PHP scripting language. The CMS WordPress is used as an extension, deployed via Webmin, with a custom theme developed for this purpose. The web presence can be viewed here:
