5.1 Regulation
Regulation deals with the setup and control of servers, networks, and channels. IRC was originally developed as a communication medium for technicians, which is why it is complex and hierarchically structured. First, it is important to understand user and channel modes, which are standardized according to RFC 1459 and RFC 2812. For controlling and regulating channels or the entire server system, internal services are used. Essentially, this includes NickServ and ChanServ, as well as the basic services of the server in use. Depending on which network a user is online in, the command list may vary slightly. Since the service is almost exclusively in English, the entire guide is provided in English. A list of the most important commands and their explanations is provided for reference.
